Union Minister C.R. Patil, from the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS), has launched the Environmental Flows (E-flows) Monitoring System, a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to clean the Ganga River. This system is part of the Aviral Ganga component and was developed by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), which operates under the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation.
About the E-flows Monitoring System
The E-flows Monitoring System is a crucial element of the Platform for Real-time Analysis of Yamuna And Ganga (PRAYAG) portal. This advanced system serves as a real-time monitoring center for several critical functions:
- Project Planning and Monitoring: Facilitates the efficient planning and execution of various river cleanup projects.
- Water Quality Monitoring: Provides real-time data on the quality of river water, helping to ensure that cleanup efforts are effective and sustainable.
- Tributary Analysis: Monitors the health and flow of the Yamuna, Ganga, and their tributaries, ensuring a comprehensive approach to river rejuvenation.
