Setu, a division of Pine Labs Group, has unveiled India’s first Large Language Model (LLM) tailored for the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector, named Sesame. Developed in partnership with Sarvam Artificial Intelligence (AI), this groundbreaking initiative was introduced at the “Adbhut India” event, hosted by People+ai, and attended by prominent personalities including Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys, and Shankar Maruwada.

- Functional Capabilities: The model is developed to significantly enhance credit decision-making processes and provide hyper-personalized financial services. It focuses on critical areas such as assessing creditworthiness, customer profiling, credit underwriting, and fraud detection.
- Data Sovereignty: A key emphasis for Setu and Sarvam AI is on maintaining data and model sovereignty. Sesame ensures that all data storage and processing are conducted locally, aligning with data protection and privacy regulations.
