Siddesh Sakore, Indian Farmer from Maharashtra Named Land Hero by UNCCD

Siddesh Sakore, a farmer from Kendur village in Maharashtra, India, and the founder of AGRO RANGERS, has been honored as a ‘Land Hero’ by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). This recognition was announced on the occasion of World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought (WDCCD) on June 17, 2024.

Key Highlights:

  • Recognition: Sakore, along with nine other individuals, was recognized as a ‘Land Hero’ during the 30th anniversary celebration of the UNCCD. The event was hosted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been awarded the ‘Risk Manager of the Year Award (2024)’ at the Central Banking Awards 2024, marking the 11th edition of these prestigious annual awards presented by Central Banking Publications, a London-based financial publisher owned by Infopro Digital.
