The Ministry of Education has released its Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0 report for 2023-24, ranking states and Union Territories (UTs) on various school education indicators. Chandigarh, Punjab, and Delhi emerged as the top three performers.
🧾 What is PGI 2.0?
Launched in 2017, and revamped in 2021, PGI 2.0 evaluates school education across six key domains:

- National Achievement Survey 2021
- UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus)

Chandigarh also topped in 2021-22, with a score of 659, followed by Punjab (647.4) and Delhi (636.2).
⚠️ Note on Comparability
The Ministry cautioned that PGI 2.0 is not directly comparable with older PGI versions due to changes in grading metrics. However, performance trends appear consistent with previous reports.
